You know that exercise offers multiple benefits to our overall health. But what is the ideal type for you? How often should you exercise? What do you like to do; Is it “one size fits all” approach? What kind of exercise is suitable & what should someone avoid?

There are probably so many other questions that bother you. We spoke with Ivan Muratkin, a Physical Education Teacher and Certified in Physical Therapy and he gave us his own answers regarding HIIT training. Surely you have heard a lot about this method, maybe you have already tried it. But let’s see how Ivan selects and plans the training goals of his trainees.

How did you choose a HIIT specialization method?

“In the past, I was a professional athlete in martial arts and in French boxing (Savate boxing). For that reason, I have a lot of experience in designing training programs. Also, because of my sports studies, I’m well aware about the requirements of HIIT training. I implement HIIT training in my workouts and my goal is for everyone to train properly through this type of exercise. You shouldn’t chase people and tell them that they need to exercise to get the desired results. There are many types of HIIT training, so we need to choose the right one for each trainee. It’s not a ”one size fits all” approach. For some. this type of training will be beneficial, but for others, it can be harmful. It is beneficial only if we do it right”.

“My main goal is to make HIIT training  an internationally safe method to train, taught in the right way. The ultimate goal is for trainees to understand why they choose and what benefits they gain, based on the results they see”.

The 7 top exercises for a HIIT workout, according to Ivan :

  • Squats

  • Jumps

  • Push ups

  • Squat jumps

  • Burpees

  • Sprint running forward-back-left-right

  • Plank

Secrets to stay healthy and in shape:

  • Always have a training program and stick to it

  • Proper eating habits

  • Targeted training depending on the level & goal of the trainee

  • Frequency of training

  • The motivation, to find our own personal reason for the aforementioned. It is the basis of everything.

However, everyone chooses what they like the most. But the biggest bet of every coach is to make training a fun experience, before people see results. If you have not tried a HIIT method yet, maybe the time has come, if you still think that it does not exactly suit you, do not waste time. Try something else. Always remember that exercise and physical activity are precursors to overall physical and mental health.
