BODY MOTOR DEVELOPMENT

Human development has been examined from various perspectives.

One of the most fundamental perspectives concerning the individual is motor development.

As a term, Motor development is the lifelong progressive change in motor behavior, which takes place under conditions concerning the interaction between the requirements imposed by the actions of the individual, his / her biological potentials & environmental conditions (Gallahue & Ozmun, 1998).

Movement plays an important role, as it creates a path for children to get to know the world around them (NASPE, 2002).

Every motor, emotional, social & cognitive experience-stimulus-information creates new synapses in the brain. To support the formation of a strong brain, we need four strong “areas” (skills): motor, emotional, social & cognitive.
